Congratulations Kemi!

The creator of popular Netflix TV series King of Boys creator, Kemi Adetiba is “OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL”.

According to her social media post, the filmmaker tied the knot in a civil ceremony with her Ghanaian beau, Oscar Herman-Acker on Friday the 22nd of April. 

Her secret, not-so-secret star-studded wedding caused Instgram users heads to spin and Twitter Naija tongues to wag all over social media. 
 
And it was not for the lack of Aso Ebi (apparently the bride said “no” to the usual solidarity garment and guests were allowed to shine in their finest wears) or the fact that the wedding was jam-packed with stars of Nollywood who stormed the event in their flamboyantly African outfits.
 
Nay, tongues were wagging but because of her larger than life Gele. The unconventional, larger than life Gele was designed and fitted by Vavavoom. It is the type of head gear you would probably imagine Madam kofo wearing. Think extra, screams and shiny!
 
The new bride got married over the weekend to her beau Oscar Herman-Acker.
 
Oscar is the son of a popular Warri based Pastor. He is the brain behind the brand SIMI & and also the genius behind most of Airtels adverts, which he produced.
 
His father is a Ghanaian and his mother is from Delta State.

Her husband is a genius music producer that has produced hit songs like P-Squares Collabo featuring Don Jazzy, Simi’s Tiff and a host of others.

The Ghanian is also an advertising guru with notable ads to his name.

Music artist, Simi was in attendance and performed her hit song Duduke.

 

Who attended?

The event was star-studded with Nollywood giants in attendance including the King herself Sola Sobowale, Adesuwa Wellington and her husband Banky W, Ini Dima-Okojie, Ebuka, comedian Mory Coco and many more. 

 

Twitter NG had a LOT to say about the gele. Some people’s reactions were wild while some called the gravity-defying head gear “magnificent”.

Twitter user @Itstosintaylor hailed the gele creator saying, “Whoever tied this gele, has a PHD in gele tying.”

@Ade_dharmola said “kemi Adetiba said ‘let’s do something different with the gele.”
